About Us

Who are we?

We are an independent clinical research site, established in 2003, located at 2460 General Armistead Ave., Suite 300, Norristown, PA, within commuting distance from Philadelphia.

We are passionate about helping to bring new medications to help improve the quality of life for millions of patients suffering from diseases of the Central Nervous System. Clinical trials are required to test the safety and efficacy of a new drug, typically conducted in four phases.

Phase 1: to assess safety of drug in human subjects

  • how it is absorbed, metabolized and excreted;
  • small number of healthy volunteers (20 to 100);
  • about 70% of experimental drugs pass this phase.

Phase 2: to test efficacy of drug

  • Several hundred patients, with a ‘control group’;
  • Control Group receives placebo (inactive pill) or standard drug for the condition;
  • ‘Blinded tests’ –neither patients nor researchers know who receives investigative drug;
  • Provides data to assess if drug is more effective than placebo or standard treatment;
  • About 33% of drugs complete both Phase 1 and Phase 2.

Phase 3: Large scale testing (several hundred to thousands of patients)

  • Gives FDA and Sponsor detailed information about safety, efficacy, side effects;
  • If approved by FDA (about 75% of Phase 3 studies), Sponsor can bring the new drug to market.

Phase 4: Post-marketing (Surveillance trials)

  • Monitor effectiveness on patient’s quality of life;
  • Compare cost-effectiveness against other drugs;
  • Can result in drug being taken off market or having restrictions imposed.
